I’ve always loved drawing cuddly animals, but there’s something especially comforting about a bear holding a cup of tea and a flower—don’t you think?
This cute bear drawing actually came to life on a rainy afternoon when all I wanted was to sip something warm and doodle something cozy. I opened Procreate, started sketching, and before I knew it, this little scene of a tea-loving bear had appeared on my screen.
And the best part? You don’t need any fancy tools to recreate it. You can follow this exact how to draw a bear tutorial with a pencil and paper, a black fineliner, or even in your journal or sketchbook. It’s a relaxing, feel-good drawing that’s great for all ages and experience levels.
If you love creative activities as much as I do, grab your favorite drawing supplies and let’s make something adorable together!

Step 1: Start with the head

Begin your bear drawing by sketching a large, smooth oval in the center of your page. This will be the shape of the bear’s head.
Don’t worry about perfection—just keep it rounded and roomy enough for all the adorable facial features we’ll add later!
Step 2: Add the ears and snout

Now it’s time to make your bear extra cute! Draw two sets of circles on the top left and right sides of the head for the ears—one larger outer circle and a smaller inner circle for each.
Then, draw a horizontal oval near the bottom of the head for the bear’s snout. It’s already starting to look like a bear, isn’t it?
Step 3: Draw the face

Time to give your bear some personality! Add two small circles for the eyes and a tiny white dot inside each for a shiny, friendly look.
Then, draw a small rounded triangle for the nose right on the snout, and curve two short lines down from it to create a sweet little smile.
This bear is already melting hearts!
Draw the body and legs

Under the bear’s head, draw a big circle to shape the body—it should be slightly smaller than the head.
Then, add two tilted ovals on each side of the body for the legs.
These will become the bear’s cute little feet in the next steps.
The cuddly shape is really coming together!
Step 5: Outline the body

To define the bear’s body even more, draw two curved lines connecting the sides of the head to the sides of the body circle—these are the shoulders and sides.
Then, add a short curved line at the bottom of the body to shape the belly. See? Just a few curves and it already looks cozier!
Step 6: Shape the legs and feet

Draw a rounded curve around each of the ovals you sketched earlier to form the full shape of the bear’s legs and feet.
Then, inside each foot, add a smaller oval to create the paw pads. These simple curves make your bear look soft, plush, and ready for a hug!
Step 7: Draw the cup

Let’s give your bear a warm little drink! On the right side, draw a rounded teacup shape with an oval opening on top and a small curved handle on the side.
This tiny detail makes your bear look like it’s enjoying a peaceful tea break—just like we all should!
Step 8: Add the arms and flower

Now draw two curved lines reaching out from the bear’s body—one connecting to the cup and the other reaching toward the left. On that side, draw a simple flower with rounded petals and a small circle in the center.
Your bear just got even sweeter—who could resist a flower-holding tea lover?
Step 9: Add leaves and steam

Let’s add some life and warmth! Draw two simple leaves next to the flower stem to complete the bouquet.
Then, above the cup, sketch two wavy lines to show steam rising—now it really looks like a fresh cup of something warm and yummy. This scene just got extra snuggly!
Step 10: Draw the vase

Let’s give that flower a proper home. Draw a rounded vase below the flower and connect it to the bear’s paw with a short curved line—like the bear is gently holding it.
This simple addition makes the whole drawing feel extra thoughtful and sweet!
Step 11: Final touch-ups

Go over your lines and make sure everything connects neatly—double-check the arms, feet, and objects.
You can clean up any overlapping lines or add small accents like paw dots or tiny eyelashes if you want a little extra charm.
Step 12: Color it in!

Now the fun part—color your bear! Use soft browns for the fur, light pink for the ears, feet, and teacup, and fresh greens and blues for the flower and leaves.
The bear’s belly and snout can be a peachy cream color to add softness.
Don’t forget to color in that warm drink too!
