There’s something about frogs that just makes me smile.
Maybe it’s their wide-eyed curiosity or their funny little poses — either way, I’ve always found them irresistibly cute. – frog drawing
One lazy Sunday afternoon, I sat down with my iPad and opened up Procreate, just doodling for fun — and that’s how this cute frog drawing was born!
Of course, you don’t need fancy tools to follow along — all you need is a pencil, a sketchbook, or even a page in your journal.
This easy step-by-step tutorial is here to help you learn how to draw a frog from start to finish — no stress, just joy. Whether you’re brand new to drawing or just want a relaxing little art break, I’ve got you. And if you love drawing cute animals, make sure to check out some of my other favorites too:

Step 1: Start with the eyes

Draw two medium-sized circles spaced a little apart — these will be the frog’s big, bright eyes! Place them near the top center of your page to leave room for the body underneath.
Don’t worry about perfection — just have fun making two happy little dots!
Step 2: Add the pupils and outlines

Inside each circle, draw a big black oval for the pupil, slightly tilted for extra cuteness. Then, add a small white circle in each pupil to create a shiny, happy look.
Finally, draw a red outline around each eye to make them pop — your frog is already starting to look adorable!
Step 3: Draw the top of the head

Starting from one side of the eye, draw a curved line up and around the eye to form a rounded bump — do the same for the other side.
Then connect the two bumps in the middle with a gentle dip.
Continue the lines downward from each eye to begin shaping the sides of the face.
It’s already looking like a happy little froggy!
Step 4: Draw the smile and nose

Let’s give our frog a big, happy smile! Draw a wide curved line that starts just under one eye and ends under the other — let it curve upward at the ends for an extra cheerful look.
Then, add two tiny ovals above the smile for the nose holes.
So cute, right? Our frog is already smiling at you!
Step 5: Draw the arms

From each side of the head, draw a curved line downward that loops back up — kind of like a soft hook shape. These will be the frog’s front legs resting in front of its body.
Then, add a shorter line inside each arm to hint at the other side of the limb.
Your froggy is getting cozier by the step!
Step 6: Draw the back legs and feet

From behind each arm, draw a wide curved line that wraps around to form the frog’s back legs. Then, add three big rounded toes on each side — like little flower petals!
Connect the bottom of the body with a curved line to bring it all together.
Your frog now has its adorable little pose!
Step 7: Trace your lines

Go over your pencil lines with a black pen or marker to make everything bold and clean. This step really brings your frog to life and gets it ready for coloring. Let the ink dry completely before erasing any pencil marks.
Step 8: Add color!

Now the magic happens! Color your frog a cheerful green, or get creative and give it a fun twist with bright or pastel colors.
Don’t forget to color the eyes white and black, just like in Step 2 — and you can even add some light shading for extra depth!
And that’s it — your cute cartoon frog is complete! 🐸
Great job following along — wasn’t that fun? You can stop here or draw some fun extras like lily pads, bugs, or a pond background!
✏️ Final Thoughts – Your Cute Frog Drawing is Complete!
And just like that — you’ve drawn your own cute frog from scratch! Isn’t it amazing how a few simple shapes can turn into a charming little character?
I hope this guide made you smile, and that you’re feeling proud of what you created. I drew this frog in Procreate, but honestly — it works just as well with a good old pencil and paper. You can sketch it in your journal, bullet journal, or art sketchbook… or even turn it into a handmade card for someone who needs a little joy.
Drawing doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to be fun.
So tell me — what color did you choose for your frog? Did you add a little scenery too?
